must go on..
She fixed her silly slippers
and her floppy hat
For it was show time
The show must go on
At any cost
She glanced in the mirror
A perfect face
Made up to please
Her smile too wide
Her eyes too bright
Her costume too pink
She aimed to please
She wanted the kids
to be happy
to not know the sadness
or the hidden tears
She stumbled out
at first unsteady
then she gained momentum
A cheery disposition
They would never know
about her tears
about her sadness
behind the mask
her eyes welled up
the curtain fell
her tear drops fell
